About the role
About MISUMI Americas
MISUMI Americas, a division of MISUMI Group, is a leading provider of standard, configurable, and custom manufacturing solutions. By integrating a vast catalog of components with a world-class digital manufacturing platform, MISUMI Americas empowers engineers and procurement teams to accelerate innovation across the entire product lifecycle.
With operations in the San Francisco Bay Area and Chicago, the company serves as a vital partner for the most innovative companies in the Americas.
INFRASTRUCTURE & SECURITY · PEOPLE MANAGER
Director of IT
MISUMI Americas · Global (US / India / China / Mexico) · Team of ~14 · Up to 10% travel · US citizen or permanent resident
THE OPPORTUNITY
MISUMI Americas is the product of two strong brands coming together with a shared ambition: to become the defining force in digital manufacturing. MISUMI USA brings decades of established trust, global scale, and an unmatched catalog. Fictiv brings a track record of technology-led innovation and a relentless drive to reimagine how manufacturing gets done.
Together, we're not just combining companies — we're building something more capable than either could be alone, with the resources of an industry leader and the energy of a company that still thinks like a challenger.
IT infrastructure is foundational to getting that right. We've combined two organizations onto a shared technology platform, and we're doing it deliberately — investing in world-class security, modern tooling, and a team that treats every employee as a high-value customer. This is your chance to own that effort end to end: finish the integration, then run and grow the IT organization that will support MISUMI Americas for years to come.
This isn't a steady-state role. It's a rare window where someone with real technical depth — hands-on with Entra ID, Intune, SIEM, Slack Enterprise Grid — can shape the architecture of a combined organization and leave a durable mark. You'll lead a globally distributed team of ~14 across India, China, Mexico, and the US, and you'll work directly in the systems you oversee, not just manage the people who do.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
IT operations & service delivery
Keep business-critical systems available, performant, and well-supported across the combined organization
Build a unified, responsive IT support experience regardless of which legacy company an employee came from
Set and maintain clear SLAs; define severity levels, escalation paths, and incident communication protocols
Monitor system health proactively and resolve infrastructure issues before they become outages
Integration (time-bound, ~8–12 months remaining)
Own the remaining consolidation work: identity migration onto Entra ID, Google Workspace → Microsoft 365, Okta decommission, CrowdStrike Falcon fleet-wide deployment, next-gen SIEM integration, and domain rebrand
Drive the timeline, quality, and business continuity throughout — this is yours to close out
Identity & access
Run Entra ID for the combined org: conditional access, MFA enforcement, administrative units, dynamic groups
Manage app refederation from Okta to Entra ID and own the Okta decommission
Maintain SSO and SCIM provisioning across the SaaS landscape; enforce least-privilege consistently
Endpoint management
Manage Intune across a mixed Apple (macOS, iOS) and Windows fleet: compliance policies, config profiles, app deployment, and conditional access
Own the Apple Business Manager integration and the device lifecycle from enrollment to retirement
Harmonize device profiles across both legacy populations as the environment converges
Security operations
Own CrowdStrike Falcon across the combined environment: prevention policies, host groups, sensor health, Falcon Fusion workflows, exclusion management, and incident response
Manage the next-gen SIEM: data connectors, detection rule development, threat hunting, and dashboard/reporting
Oversee the CrowdStrike-to-SIEM telemetry pipeline and coordinate with any third-party SOC
Drive the long-term SOC strategy — in-house, hybrid, or fully internal — and own that roadmap
Collaboration & productivity
Administer Slack Enterprise Grid, Teams/Zoom, and the full Microsoft 365 suite (Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive)
Manage a small number of retained Google Workspace accounts
Team, vendors & budget
Build a unified team culture across both legacy orgs; define shared processes, on-call rotations, and escalation paths
Identify skill gaps, mentor senior ICs, and develop future team leads
Own vendor relationships (Microsoft, CrowdStrike, Slack, Zoom, Google Workspace, and others) and the consolidated IT budget
Lead contract negotiations; identify cost savings from consolidation, license right-sizing, and duplicate eliminations
WHAT YOU BRING
Required
Next-gen SIEM MUST HAVE — operating a cloud-native platform (LogScale, Splunk Cloud, Chronicle, Elastic, or equivalent) in production: connectors, detection rule tuning, dashboards, threat hunting
Microsoft Entra ID MUST HAVE — deep hands-on: conditional access design, SAML/OIDC federation, SCIM provisioning, dynamic groups, and experience with Okta-to-Entra or similar IDP migration
Intune & endpoint management MUST HAVE — mixed macOS/iOS/Windows fleet, Apple Business Manager, compliance policies, and conditional access integration
Slack Enterprise Grid MUST HAVE — SSO, SCIM, workspace management, retention policies
Microsoft 365 administration MUST HAVE — Exchange Online (mail flow, transport rules, DNS), SharePoint Online, OneDrive
DNS & infrastructure fundamentals MUST HAVE — MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, autodiscover, cross-tenant migration implications
Nice to have
CrowdStrike Falcon NICE TO HAVE — hands-on sensor deployment, prevention policy management, Falcon Insight EDR investigation, and Falcon Fusion workflow automation across macOS/Windows/Linux
Google Workspace administration and Google-to-M365 migration tooling (BitTitan, ShareGate, Microsoft Mover) NICE TO HAVE
Scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, or similar) for bulk ops and integration tasks NICE TO HAVE
Azure infrastructure beyond M365: Application Proxy, Logic Apps, Azure Functions NICE TO HAVE
Microsoft Purview compliance and eDiscovery tooling NICE TO HAVE
ITIL or ITSM framework experience; experience evaluating and implementing ticketing platforms NICE TO HAVE
Falcon Identity Threat Detection or Falcon Discover experience NICE TO HAVE
Experience
10+ years in IT operations, infrastructure, or systems engineering with progressive responsibility
5+ years managing IT teams (people management, not just technical leadership)
Direct experience with at least one company merger, acquisition, or major environment consolidation
Track record of running hands-on while also managing team, budget, and vendor responsibilities simultaneously
IT environments of 200+ users across multiple locations or business units
WHO THRIVES HERE
Service-first — You measure success by whether employees feel supported and unblocked, not just uptime metrics.
Hands-on by choice — You're willing to reset passwords and debug a mail flow rule alongside the strategic work, without it feeling beneath you.
Comfortable with ambiguity — You can operate effectively with incomplete information, make reasonable calls, and adjust as clarity emerges.
Bias toward action — You distinguish between decisions that need deliberation and ones where momentum matters more than precision.
Clear communicator — You can explain complex technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders and write documentation that actually gets used.
Vendor-savvy — You know how to hold vendors accountable, negotiate effectively, and avoid being oversold on features you don't need.
Ready to build something lasting?
This role is as much about shaping an IT organization as it is finishing an integration. If you want ownership, technical depth, and the chance to leave a real mark on a company with serious ambitions — we'd like to talk.
