Software Systems Engineer

Position Summary

Trust Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Software Systems Engineer to support our client, the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). The Software Systems Engineer provides technical expertise to support the analysis, design, integration, testing, and optimization of enterprise systems and software solutions for the client's program.

The role performs in-depth system analysis, resolves complex technical issues, evaluates system requirements, and supports the implementation of system and process improvements. The SSE collaborates with business process specialists, enterprise architects, technical teams, and DLA stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.

This role supports efforts including Celonis process mining, SAP S/4HANA modernization, system integration, prototypes/POCs, and business process reengineering (BPR) initiatives, while ensuring solutions align with DLA enterprise architecture, operational requirements, and program objectives.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Establish embedded software architectures, software frameworks, engineering standards, and development methodologies supporting current and future work products Conduct in-depth analysis of enterprise systems and software to identify technical issues, system dependencies, performance gaps, and improvement opportunities Support the design, development, configuration, integration, and implementation of software and system solutions aligned with DLA enterprise requirements.

Guide implementation of software process improvements, defect resolutions, engineering changes, and corrective actions that strengthen software reliability, maintainability, performance, and product quality Perform system testing, debugging, root-cause analysis, and complex problem resolution to ensure system reliability, performance, and operational readiness Work closely with the business community to understand process challenges and requirements.

Develop and document improvement process use cases, define problem statements, and provide prioritization inputs for actionable business initiatives Bridge business goals and software engineering by implementing tools such as ERPs, cloud platforms, Celonis, or automated workflows Architect digital workflows, automated pipelines, and enterprise software frameworks from the ground up Assist with the development and evaluation of prototypes and proofs of concept (POCs) to validate proposed technical solutions and process improvements before implementation

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Undergraduate degree required.

Eight (8) years of experience in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems/Technology) Experience with web component applications, XML (including schema definitions and generation, XSD), relational databases, and serving as a Webmaster Tools and platforms: SQL/PQL, SAP, Celonis/Qlik, Power BI, Teams/SharePoint, MS Office (Excel,

PowerPoint, Word)

Must possess IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive security clearance or Tier 3 (T3) at the time of proposal (Public Trust / IT-II / Tier 3 required)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with EDI/XML electronic data exchange Knowledge of DoD logistics business processes including DLMS, legacy transaction standards (MILSTRIP, MILSTRAP, MILSBILLS), SDR/WebSDR, and DoDAAD Work Schedule, Environment, and Compensation Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

$130,000 to $140,000 annually (Exempt)
