Senior Backend Software Engineer

About the Role

Join the backend engineering team at a customer data platform company, building systems that help businesses activate and understand their data. You will shape core product capabilities, with a focus on reliability, performance, and a thoughtful customer experience.

What You'll Do

Own backend systems, improving their scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

Improve data warehouse performance through query optimization and precomputed state.

Build analytics and experimentation features for audience creation and performance tracking.

Develop real-time audience syncing using change data capture and streaming approaches.

Partner with product and design to turn customer needs and product specifications into robust backend solutions.

Guide architecture decisions that balance performance, simplicity, and long-term maintainability.

What We're Looking For

At least 6 years of backend engineering experience designing and delivering large-scale systems.

Strong systems design fundamentals and an understanding of large-scale data processing.

Experience building backend products in high-growth startup environments, as well as working at established companies.

Background in data activation, analytics, or data tooling within SaaS.

A product-minded approach, including comfort speaking with customers and iterating on feedback.

Strong computer science fundamentals or equivalent technical experience.

Clear communication skills, curiosity, and a record of taking on new technical challenges and growing in responsibility.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual salary range: $180,000 to $320,000 USD. Visa sponsorship is not available.
