Business Development & Product Marketing Associate

Liatris is seeking a Business Development Associate (0–3 years of experience, including current college/graduate students or recent graduates) to support continued market discovery, product development, strategic outreach, and commercialization / policy support efforts for Liatris’s cutting-edge insulation technologies.

This role will focus initially on Liatris’s product demonstration and stakeholder engagement efforts in the California market and offer exceptional hands-on experience and a high level of responsibility for candidates interested in entrepreneurship, clean energy innovation, and advanced materials commercialization.

Responsibilities

• Manage California-based Deployment and Incubator Program and Projects, supporting company efforts and attending on-site meetings and events as needed
• Participate in California-based stakeholder engagement events and partner site visits, along with other support tasks as needed
• Support development of product requirement documents, specification sheets and testing protocols, along with techno-economic analyses (including cost modeling) to guide product development and commercialization and demonstration workstrategies
• Evaluate potential contractor, OEM, distributor, and financing / insurance relationships that will aid the deployment of private-label customers for insulation products, including their ability to integrate products into building systems and scale manufacturing efforts
• Research market and regulatory requirements and changes that may impact market adoption and commercialization opportunities
• Conduct competitive analysis of the insulation and advanced materials sector, including company, product, pricing, and technology benchmarking
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams externally such as government lab and think tank partners to support ongoing commercialization, pilot production, and market expansion initiatives

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or MBA degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field
• 0–3 years of experience in business development, market research, consulting, strategy, sales, operations, engineering, or related fields (internship experience welcomed)
• Interest in entrepreneurship, climate technology, advanced materials, or energy innovation
• Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup and collaborative team environment
• Prior experience in research, presentations, outreach, or business-related projects preferred
• Proficient with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and cloud-based collaboration tools (Airtable, Canva, Dropbox, etc.)
